(TULSA, Okla.) - Leroy Burger, Kyle Clark, Jorge Chacon, and Bobby Wolfe earn repeat wins, while Joe Wright wins first race of 2016.
Bobby Wolfe found himself in victory lane for the 16th time this year in the Factory Stock Division. Dalton Garrison made his way to the front of the eleven car field by lap 2, but caught himself facing the wrong direction on lap 7, which brought out the first caution of the race. Garrison had to restart at the tail of the field, which gave the race lead to Tommy Romine. For the next five laps, it would be a dire race between Romine and Toby Cooper, who started on the inside of the second row. A caution then waved on lap 12 for debris which would stack the field back up, and found Wolfe trailing Romine by inches. Wolfe made his way around Romine on lap 13, with Garrison making the pass on Romine on lap 15. Wolfe and Garrison battled for the remainder of the race with Garrison falling short at the checkered flag. Romine crossed the line in third, followed by Cooper, and Robert Scott to round out the top five.
The Sprint Car division took the green flag with Travis Ashwood leading a majority of the race, followed shortly by Brandon James. The two raced hard for the opening laps, until Kyle Clark made his way past James on lap 5. Zach Alley had the momentum to make the pass on James on lap 7, followed by Kevin Brewer. It was a close race for another 8 laps before the caution flag waved on lap 13 for a two car crash at the top of turn 2. That would bunch the field back up. Shortly after the restart, Clark would make the pass on Ashwood and continue on to win the 20 lap feature event. Alley finished behind Clark, followed by Ashwood, Brewer, and Brian McClelland.
Joe Wright found himself in victory lane for the first time since 2007 in the Modified Division. Wright made an opening lap pass on Justin Cartwright to take the lead and would go on to win the 20 lap event. Mike Duvall made a pass on Cartwright on lap 4 followed by Jeremy LaCoe. Collin Wisely and Brandon Dean found their way into the top five after a late race caution for two cars getting together and coming to a stop on the track. The checkered flag found Duvall, Cartwright, Wisely and Dean completing the top five.
Chacon made his way to victory lane for the 7th time after a green to checkered Dwarf Car race. He faced an early battle with Rob Mcquary. The two would go head to head for the opening laps of the 20 lap race, until Samuel Stegeman found his way between the two on lap 10. Brian McClelland saw the top 5 after starting 6th on the grid and making a pass on Todd Reynolds on the opening lap. Stegeman was able to maintain a 2nd place finish, followed by McQuary, McClelland and Reynolds.
Leroy Burger reigned supreme in the Mini Stock Division. After starting on the pole, Justin Melton lead the first few laps, until Wesley Knebel made the pass on Melton on lap 3. Joshua Tyre made an opening lap pass on Knebel and Jimmy Masterson and found himself challenging Knebel for the lead. They raced side by side for several laps until Tyre completed the pass on Knebel on lap 11. Burger raced his way into the top five on lap two after starting 9th to challenge Masterson on lap 8. Burger made the pass on Masterson on lap 9, and had his sights on the battle between Tyre and Knebel. Burger completed the pass on Knebel on lap 12, and raced to catch up to Tyre. Tyre and Burger raced for the top spot for a few laps before Burger raced his way past Tyre on lap 15 to go on to win the race. James Poe finished in fourth, and Justin Melton crossed the line in fifth.
