Picking up his 3rd non-wing win at creek county speedway and a $3,000 paycheck, Andrew drove two flawless races to capture a Friday and Saturday night win for the Iron Man 55 Allies for Independence event. After winning his heat races both Friday and Saturday night. The top drivers were then entered for the dash for cash race. Running second both nights in the dash, Andrew trailed Casey Wills Friday and Matt Sherrel Saturday assuring him a spot in the Feature races. Where they would start was another question? The drivers all took part in a dirty draw. This meaning the drivers drew numbers for starting spots just to turn around and give it to a competitor of their choice. Both nights Andrew was given the #5 starting position by race competitor and friend, Casey Wills.
Friday night’s 30 lap “A” Feature, Andrew started third row inside. He made quick work passing cars and finding himself behind the leader, #31 Casey Wills. After battling for a few laps, Deal found the cushion on the high side and pulled away from the field for a trip to the winner’s circle. For night number one of the Iron Man 55 double header, a win was in the books!
With no major issues from the night before, the car was tuned up and hopeful to match Friday nights outcome. Car setup and fuel consumption was weighing on minds of crew, driver and other competitors. Saturday being a 55-lap race for the win, which is not common in week to week racing. Starting once again third row inside, the green flag waved and the race was on. After only a few laps, Deal found himself in third. With changing track conditions and cars jockeying for position, Andrew made his move on the bottom of race track. Sliding all the way to the top to pass for the first-place spot. Alex DeCamp in tow and lap traffic becoming a factor, Andrew kept his cool making clean passes and drove flawlessly to the checkered flag once again to sweep the Iron Man 55 Allies for Independence Race with his second win. Deal says, “The fun factor for the Iron Man event ranks right up there with the Chili Bowl”.
