McSperitt Family Doubles Up As McGehee, Harris, And Schultz Garner Creek County Speedway Wins

Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (September 1, 2018) Combining for 21 wins on the season, Kevin and Austin McSperitt are seeming unstoppable in Mini Stock and Factory Stock competition as Austin picked up win No. 10 in Factory competition, while his cousin Kevin, made it 11 Mini Stock wins.

While the family’s dominance was a highlight of this past Saturday’s Fast Five Weekly Series, Noah Harris topped Champ Sprints for the fourth time this season while Kendall Shultz garnered his second win in the Modifieds. Jerry McGehee made it back to back wins in Dwarf/Mod 600 action.

Rolling to the win from sixth, Harris was chased through the field by Zach Alley who grabbed second from seventh. The Hard Charger of the night, Champ Sprint point’s leader Travis Ashwood rallied 13 positions to round out the podium. David Stephenson and Kyle Clark made the top-five.

Racing from fourth to the win in Modified action, Shultz was followed by point’s leader, Chad Davis, with Matt French, Ho Dean, and Justin Cartwright. With a number change from 88 the week before to his familiar No. 55, Jerry McGehee advanced three spots to get the win in Dwarf/Mod 600. Jason Miles, Larry Pense, Paul York, and Sam Champlain.

For the McSperitt cousins, each grabbed their wins from the sixth starting spot. For Austin, the win came over Jimmy Owen, Tommy Romine, Calvin Lewis, and Robert Scott. In Mini Stocks, Wesley Knebel grabbed second with Kenny Grumadas, Adrien Hickman, and Daniel Denton in tow.
