Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Oct. 24, 2018) – Channin Tankersley will make his season debut with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com this weekend during the John Christner Trucking Fall Fling.
Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., hosts the doubleheader on Friday and Saturday. It will serve as the final two races of the season for both the series and Tankersley, who is fresh off scoring his third career ASCS Gulf South Region championship.
“We’re excited to run with the ASCS National Tour for the first time this year,” the Old School Racing driver said. “We’ve done well at regional races, but this weekend presents a great opportunity to push ourselves and use this as a measuring stick to see how we stack up against the ASCS National Tour drivers.”
Tankersley has six wins, 11 top fives and 12 top 10s in 14 starts this year in a 360ci winged sprint car. This weekend marks the fourth different state he’ll compete in this year.
“I haven’t run at Creek County very often,” he said. “I know it’s a smaller, elbows-up type of track. We’ve done well at places where you have to hustle the car so hopefully that carries over to this weekend.”
Tankersley last raced at Creek County Speedway in June 2017 when he finished a career-best 20th after pulling off the track early to save equipment. He also raced there once the previous season. Prior to that his most recent visit to the bullring was in July 2008 when he made his debut there.
