Inside Line Promotions – SAPULPA, Okla. (Nov. 8, 2020) – Frank Flud and Jett Nunley tied a bow on the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division season by reaching Victory Lane on Sunday at Creek County Speedway.
Flud captured both the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class main events for the second straight night. It marked his seventh time of winning both divisions during a national event this season. Meanwhile, Nunley powered to his first career Restricted ‘A’ Class national triumph.
Bradley Fezard (Stock Non-Wing) and Jade Avedisian (Winged ‘A’ Class) had already secured series championships prior to the season finale. Avedisian doubled up by scoring the Restricted ‘A’ Class title after a top-five outing on Sunday gave her a national-best 19 top fives – the most for any driver in a national division this year.
Flud posted his 12th series Stock Non-Wing win of the season and the 49th of his career. Jace Park finished second with Fezard third, Ryan Timms fourth and Kenton Brewer fifth.
Brewer, Flud, Timms and Johnny Boland were the heat race winners. Daniel Shaffer and Kobe Simpson each claimed a B Main triumph.
Flud wrapped up the evening by garnering his 10th NOW600 Series Winged ‘A’ Class victory of the year. It was his 53rd career in the division. Timms was the runner up. Cody Christensen placed third with Noah Key fourth and Park fifth.
Key, Flud, Christensen and Caiden Mitchell won the heat races and Harley Hollan was the B Main victor.
Nunley became the 10th different Restricted ‘A’ Class winner of the season. Kayden Cole produced a second-place showing with Avedisian third, Jack Thomas fourth and Tyler Kuykendall fifth.
Cole, Nunley and Thomas pocketed heat race wins.
