Terry Mattox - SAPULPA, Okla. (August 12, 2014) - The last of the scheduled Open Wheel Mayhem's concludes on Thursday night, as the USAC Southwest 360ci Non-Wing Sprint Car Series invades Creek County Speedway along with the NOW600cc Restrictor and Non-Wing Micro Sprints for “Thursday night Thunder.”

The inaugural appearance by the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars saw a “Sooner” hold of the “Bandits” from the Southwest, as Danny Smith claimed the feature victory, with Arizona’s Josh Pelkey and Broken Arrow’s Jonathan Beason round out the top three across the line at the end of the 30 lap feature event.

Also joining the action of “Thursday night Thunder” will be the National Open Wheel 600 Series (NOW600) Restrictor and Non-Wing micro sprint divisions. In the last four appearances by the NOW600 Restrictors, three feature winners have become victorious, Cole Roberts picked up the feature win on April 11, Matt Moore has been the only repeat NOW600 Restrictor winner winning both May 9 and July 18 events, with Alison Slaton picking up the win on June 19.

In the last three NOW600 Non-Wing features contested at the Creek County Speedway, no one has been able to repeat a victory in 2014. Chris Cochran found victory lane on April 11, Steven Shebester bested the field on June 19 and Hunter Fischer scored his win on July 18. Can another new name be added to the win list or will one of these three become victorious again?

“Thursday night Thunder” will start at 8PM on Thursday, August 14th, with Gates opening at 4:30PM. General Admission to the event is $15 for adults, Kids 10-14 get in for only $6 and Children under 10 are FREE!!
