SEWELL DOUBLES UP, GENTRY, LANEY, WARD, HOLLAN SCORE FIRST WINS

Tulsa, OKLA (April 16, 2017) - Alex Sewell, Joshua Gentry, Gage Laney, Kayla Ward, and Harley Hollan score wins on night number 2 of Creek County Speedway's Weekly Micro Series.

Sewell started off strong winning the top prize in the A-Class feature event. After starting on the inside of the 3rd row, made his way to the top spot on the opening lap of the race. Despite a few yellow flags, he was able to hold on it for the win. Jason McDougal made a charge for the front, starting in the 10th spot, and spent most of the race making his attempt to take that top spot away from Sewell. During the closing laps of the race, McDougal was faced with a challenge to make a pass on Hank Davis, which he was able to complete on lap 19. Davis held on to his 3rd place finish after a last lap attempt by Frank Flud to take 3rd. Flud had a rough race, going into the event in 8th place, falling as low as 10th on lap 2, and making his way back up to his 4th place finishing spot. 9th place starter Shawn Wicker finished 5th after battling with McDougal and Flud during the race, and had some trouble with lap traffic during the closing laps, and managed to hold off Kaylee Bryson to finish in the top 5.

Joshua Gentry was the one to beat during the Junior Sprint main event. After starting 5th, made a quick run to the front, finding himself in 2nd place, battling with Hayden Mabe for the lead on lap 4. Gentry completed the pass on lap 4, and left a trail of dust for the rest of the field as he cruised his way into victory lane. Hayden Mabe was crusing to a second place finish, but was passed at the half way mark by Ryan Timms. Timms completed the race in 2nd, while Mabe came across the line in 3rd, but not before Kaley Mahaffey made a bid for the podium finish. Mahaffey ran out of laps, and wasn't able to complete the pass in time. Jase Blevins finished the race in 5th, after starting 10th.

The Restricted 20 lap race saw two different leaders. Amongst those two, one stood victorious, Gage Laney. Laney, starting in 6th found himself trailing the early leader, Daison Pursley. Pursley was looking for a win, but Laney thought otherwise and completed the pass on him on lap 7. Pursley drove to a 2nd place finish. Jake Nail was the 3rd place finisher, starting in 11th, making his way through lap traffic, and past 4th place finisher Shawn Mahaffey. Mahaffee was looking strong until he got hung up in lapped traffic, making his way forward from his 9th place start. The 5th place finisher, and biggest mover of the race was Preston Scheulen, who started the race in the 18th position.

Kayla Ward picked up her 1st Sportsman feature win of the year, after starting 5th on the grid. Ward trailed front row starter Ryan Cody, who pulled out to an early lead on the start of the race. Cody was crusing right along, until he found himself being challenged by Ward on lap 6. Ward was able to get around Cody on lap 7 and motored on into victory lane. Jeremy Wickham was the dividing factor early on, separating Cody from Ward, but Ward was able to make quick work, challenging and completing the pass on Cody in a single lap. Wickham finished the race in 3rd place. Taylor Garrison finished the race in fourth after starting 10th. Luke Tipton piloted his 70T machine to a 5th place finish, after starting next to Garrison, battling for position for the entirety of the race.

Harley Hollan made his way into victory lane during the 20 lap Outlaw feature event. Zooming from an 8th place start to the lead on the opening lap, Hollan was the man to beat. However, if Hollan had a rear-view mirror, he would have been able to witness the fierce competition between Frank Flud and Kevin Bayer, who battled the entire race for 2nd place. They exchanged positions several times throughout the race, but when the dust settled, Flud came out ahead, finishing 2nd, while Bayer finished 3rd. Chad Bell settled for fourth after advancing from his 15th place starting place, but was unable to catch Flud and Bayer. Alison Slaton rolled across the finish line in 5th after losing her 3rd place starting position during the battle for 2nd between Flud and Bayer.

29 drivers signed in to compete in the Non-Wing Division. Of those 29 drivers, Alex Sewell was the man on top. Fresh off of the track after winning the A-Class feature event, Sewell started the Non-Wing feature in fourth place and made quick work of taking the lead, holding off front row starter Zac Moody. Moody was able to hold onto 2nd place until Cannon McIntosh, Frank Flud, and Shawn Wicker came into the picture. Moody was able to hold onto 2nd place, until lap 15. Moody was passed by McIntosh, who was being challenged by Flud, who was also being challenged by Shawn Wicker. the three of them shuffled positions for 3 more laps, then settled down in their finishing positions. McIntosh finished 2nd, Flud finished 3rd, Wicker rolled across the line in fourth, while Moody was shuffled to fifth.
