WILSON, PARKER, DUVALL, SCORE FIRST WINS, CHACON AND KNEBEL REPEAT

Tulsa, OKLA (April 7,2017) - Brett Wilson, Brian Parker, Mike Duvall won their first A-Feature events of 2017, while Jorge Chacon and Wesley Knebel both win for the 2nd time this season.

It was a fierce competition in the Factory Stock division, but Brian Parker was the driver that came out victorious. Starting fifth, point leader Robert Scott made his way up to the lead on lap 7, challenging early race leader Dalton Garrison for the lead on lap 6, but a yellow flag waved on lap 9. Parker was trailing Scott when the yellow waved, but some contact with another car, forced Scott to the work area to make repairs to his car. He was shuffled to the rear of the field. Scott made his way back through the field and found himself trailing Parker by lap 14. Scott attempted to challenge Parker for the lead, but ran out of laps and couldn't complete the pass, settling for a 2nd place finish. Third place finisher Jimmy Owens started fourth, but only gained one position at the end of the race. Owens attempted to complete the pass on lap 19, but came up short. Justin Green was the biggest mover of the race, coming from a 7th place starting position to finish fourth, while Tommy Romine rounded out the top five.

Brett Wilson won his first Champ Sprint main event, topping the 20 car field. Wilson battled his way to the front, challenging Bailey Hughes for the lead on lap 12. Wilson was able to complete the pass on lap 13, and motor on to win the 25 lap race. Jaiden Hughes finished in 2nd after pulling out to an early lead. Jaiden Hughes found a lengthy battle for the lead with teammate Bailey Hughes. They went back and forth for several laps until Wilson made his appearance. Pole Sitter Joshua Tyre fell two positions from his pole starting position after losing ground to the Hughes' and Wilson. Tyre fell to 5th place on lap 12, but was able to climb back to third, besting Bailey Hughes and fourth place finisher and 2016 Track Champion Zach Alley. Bailey Hughes finished fifth, but was disqualified for failing to report to post-race inspection, bumping 6th place finisher Brent Bates into the top five.

The Modified Division race was one for the books. Mike Duvall came out victorious, but not with ease. Second place finisher Brandon Dean put in a valiant effort to take the lead from Duvall, but ran out of laps and was forced to settle in second. Brandon Dean made attempt after attempt to get by Duvall, challenging him most of the second half of the race, but was unable to squeak by. Brandon's dad, Ho Dean was the 3rd place finisher, but was unable to challenge son, Brandon, and Duvall. Collin Wisely was only able to gain one position, starting fifth, and finishing fourth. Fifth place finisher Justin Cartwright had his hands full, starting fourth, and losing position to Wisely. Cartwright was caught up in an early race crash, shuffling him to the back of a lap 6 restart. He was able to regain his lost position at the time of the caution, but wasn't able to challenge Wisely for his starting position.

Jorge Chacon was the man to beat in the Dwarf Car division feature event. Starting in fifth, Chacon was caught up battling early race leader Mike Howard. Howard was challenged and passed by Chacon on lap 13, and Chacon went on to win the 20 lap feature event. Howard fell back to 7th, while Sam Champlain started fourth and made his way to 2nd, making his way pas third place finisher Rob McQuary. McQuary moved forward through the field finishing third from his 7th position start. Charly Gonzalez was the biggest mover of the race, starting in 10th place and finishing fourth. Tanner Phillips finished fifth, but not before finding himself facing the wrong direction in turn four bringing out the yellow on lap 15. With just five laps remaining, Phillips motored from a 10th place restart to squeeze into the top five coming to the checkered flag.

Wesley Knebel was the Mini Stock division feature event winner. Knebel started in 6th and made it has high as 2nd, but was involved in an incident on lap 15, and was forced to restart 7th. In the remaining laps, Knebel made his run for the lead, trailing the leader Kenny Grumadas and 3rd place runner Robert Lockhart on lap 18. Coming to the white flag, Knebel was able to get past Lockhart, and set his sights on Grumadas, who shortly before taking the white flag started to suffer from mechanical failure. Knebel made the pass on Grumadas after the white flag waved, but Grumadas was able to hang on to 2nd after a hard charge from Lockhart, despite a failing motor. Lockhart finished in third while front row starter Kimberly Tyre came across the line in fourth. Richard Shipley was the biggest mover of the 20 lap race, starting 12th, and finishing fifth.
