CHAPPELL AND GREEN WINS FIRST OF 2017, DAVIS, PHILLIPS, BURGER WIN CONSECUTIVELY

Tulsa, OKLA (June 4,2017) - Zach Chappell and Justin Green win their first races of the year, while Chad Davis, Tanner Phillips, and Leroy Burger win consecutive races.

Justin Green pulled away for the win in the 20 lap Factory Stock division main event. Tommy Romine was off to a good start, looking for his first feature win of the year, but Green had different plans. Green started in 6th place, making his way into the top five at the end of the opening lap. Romine was challenged by Green on lap 10, but wasn't able to complete the pass until lap 11. Romine fell to 2nd, but was overtaken by Bobby Wolfe on lap 12. Wolfe went on to finish 2nd, while Romine slipped to 4th, after being passed by Robert Scott on lap 17. Scott finished 3rd, Romine came across the line in 4th, while Daniel Abrahms advanced two positions to finish in 5th.

Zach Chappell was on a mission during the 25 lap Sprint Car A-Feature. Running 3rd, advancing from a 7th place start, Chappell found himself trailing Joshua Tyre, who had led over half of the race. Chappel was able to challenge and make the pass on Tyre as a yellow flag waved. Reverting back to the previous lap, Tyre was once again in the lead at the restart. However, after the restart, Tyre found himself facing the wrong direction in turn 4, bringing out another yellow flag. Chappell inhereted the lead, and was able to motor away to take home the checkered flag. Coming to the white flag, there was a fierce battle for 2nd place between 2016 Track Champion Zach Alley and Alex Decamp. Jockeying back and fourth, DeCamp beat Alley to the line by less than a bumper's length, taking 2nd place from Alley. Alley Finished 3rd, while Danny Smith gained 9 positions to finish fourth. Johnny Kent managed a 5th place finish after gaining 10 positions from his 15th place starting position.

Chad Davis made it three in a row in the Modified Division feature event. It didn't take long for Chad Davis to make it to the front, making the pass on early leader Justin Cartwright on lap 3. Davis went on to win the race. Kendall Schultz finished behind Davis, after starting 5th, while Colin Wisely gained one position to finish in 3rd. Ryan Lacoe lost 3 positions after starting on the front row to Cartwright and Davis to finish 4th, while Ho Dean made a last lap, last corner pass on Cartwright to finish 5th. Cartwright lost his top five position to Dean, and fell to 6th.

Tanner Phillips scored his 2nd consecutive win in the Dwarf Car 20 lap feature event. Phillips started in 6th place, but found himself leading at the end of lap 2. Phillips went on uncontested to win the feature event. Larry Pense made it up to his 2nd place finishing, after taking the position from Paul York. York trailed Phillips until he was challenged and overtaken by Pense, on lap 15. York went on to finish 3rd while Robbie Russell finished in 4th after starting in the same position. Rob McQuary made his way to a top five finish, finishing 5th. McQuary came from a 12th place starting position.

Leroy Burger left nothing on the table during the Mini Stock Divison feature. Burger led all 20 laps taking a commanding lead on the opening lap. Kenny Grumadas spent some time trying to get to his 2nd place finishing position, but didn't leave himself enough time to catch and challenge Burger. Jesse Hill lost 2 positions to Burger and Grumadas to finish 3rd after starting on the pole. Jimmy Masterson gained one position to finish fourth, while Justin Melton lost one position from his 4th place start to finish fifth.
