Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (May 16, 2018) Just like Peanut Butter and Jelly, Sprint Cars and quarter-mile bullrings go perfect together and fans in Oklahoma will have two chances to see the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products as the series headlines at Creek County Speedway on Friday, May 18 and Lawton Speedway on Saturday, May 19.

Back under the management of the Hahn family, Creek County Speedway will feature an all open-wheel night of racing with the USAC Wingless Sprints of Oklahoma joining the Friday lineup as well as Dwarf Cars.

In the series last visit on April 20, Oklahoma’s Wayne Johnson outran Matt Covington in traffic to garner the $2,000 top prize. Johnson, Covington, and Hahn are among the drivers that are full time with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com that are expected to be on hand as the series is slated to roll into town for Speedweek on Thursday, June 14.

The season’s first of two stops at Lawton Speedway, with the red clay oval also on the Speedweek lineup on Wednesday, June 13, the series also made two stops in 2017 with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. picking wins on both occasions.

While a few of the National Tour regulars will be on hand this weekend, the full-time members of the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products should never be downplayed as the series rolls into the weekend headed by defending champion, Alex Sewell. With a 158-point lead over Fred Mattox, a look through the top-five includes Kyle Bellm, Tyler Thomas, and Brandon Hanks.

Both nights of racing this weekend will offer up a $2,000 to win, $300 to start feature event with non-qualifiers paid $150 each.

Friday, May 18 at Creek County Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:30 P.M. (CT). Admission is $20 for adults with kids 10 and under admitted free into the grandstands.
