Chad Davis Wins Iron Man Modified Makeup Feature At Creek County Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (September 15, 2018) Continuing his dominance at Creek County Speedway, Chad Davis picked up an extra $700 in the 33-lap Iron Man Modified A-Feature that had been delayed to the start of racing action on Saturday, September 15 due to rain the week before.

On the start, Matt French rolled to the lead with Chad Davis in tow. Working to slower traffic inside the first five laps, Davis began searching the racing surface for room to run, with the hole opening on Lap 7 to bring the pair side-by-side for a lap and a half before contact between the No. 52 and the No. 99 sent French to the work area on Lap 9. French was able to return.

With Davis to the lead on the restart, the No. 52 now had Justin Cartwright in pursuit. Quickly putting distance over the No. 24, the caution brought the field back to Lap 9 with Ho Dean putting his name into the mix. Unable to clear the No. 24, Dean settled back into third as Chad Davis steadily pulled away.

Racing past the half-way point, Dean would have pressure for the third spot as Brandon Dean started looking to the high-side of the No. 39.

Caution for debris working Lap 20, the field reverted to the last fully completed lap. At speed, Chad Davis again put several car lengths over Cartwright, but lapped traffic two laps into the run brought the No. 24 to the back bumper of the No. 52. Not able to capitalize, the gap slowly grew between the top two runners with Davis securing the $700 payday. Justin Cartwright was second with Brandon Dean making his way from eighth to third. Ho Dean crossed fourth with Collin Wiseley coming from 16th to round out the top five.

Upon the completion of the special A-Feature, the night's regular lineup of action began. Full results from Fast Five Weekly Series competition will be posted to http://www.creekcountyspeedway.co.
