THOMAS TAMES SOONER SHOWDOWN AT CREEK COUNTY

SAPULPA, OKLA. (June 22, 2019) – Scoring his first victory of 2019 with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League, Tyler Thomas of Collinsville, Okla. was the top dog on Friday night as he controlled the Executive Concrete / Snatch-It A-Main on night one of the Sooner Showdown at Creek County Speedway.

With a strong 27-car field on hand, a trio of heat races set the stage for the 25-lap main event. Points leader Andrew Felker of Carl Junction Mo. topped Smith Titanium heat one, Thomas drove the BT Machine, Spike/Toyota No. 91T to the win in Keizer Wheels heat two, and Hank Davis of Sand Springs, Okla. won Saldana Racing Products heat three.

Although Pierce Urbanosky of North Richland Hills, Tex. and Matt Sherrell of Owasso, Okla. led the field to green, there would be no denying Thomas on this night. The 12-time POWRi National Midget winner owned the local stage as he ran away with a commanding victory at Creek County Speedway with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midgets.

Cannon McIntosh of Bixby, Okla. advanced the Dave Mac Motorsports, Spike/Toyota No. 11B from fifth-to-second, while Jonathan Beason of Broken Arrow, Okla. rounded out the podium aboard his Hard 8 Racing, Spike/Esslinger No. 8J. Closing out the top five was Hank Davis in the No. 42 machine and Matt Sherrell in the fifth spot.

The POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League heads to Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. tonight Saturday, June 22 for another night of the Sooner Showdown.
