Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (September 5, 2020) Surviving 55 laps at Creek County Speedway to win his second Oil Fire Whiskey Iron Man 55, Kyle Clark held off the late-race charge of Ty Hulsey for Saturday’s $5,000 prize.

Getting to the lead at the start, Clark worked through several cautions to hold off the field. Working to second, Mike Goodman used a pair of restarts to slide the No. 9$ for the lead. Unable to make the pass stick, one final shot was one to many as Goodman climbed over Clark’s left front and began flipping wildly off the top of the second turn. Mike was uninjured.

Spinning, but never coming to a stop, Kyle Clark retained the lead.

A long green-flag run after a Lap 16 caution, Clark steadily pulled away from the field as Craig Carroll pursued with Johnny Kent and Ty Hulsey trading the third spot numerous times. Several occasions coming to a three-car battle for the runner-up spot, the caution lights came on one final time on Lap 47.

Restarting third, Hulsey worked to second on the restart with sights set on the lead. Taking the lead with five laps to run, The No. 24h build a small advantage, but it was short-lived as Clark build momentum. Retaking the point with three laps to run, the final lap saw Hulsey take on final crack at the win, but would be denied by just over a second. The highest finishing RaceSaver entry, Joe Wood, Jr. was also the night’s Hard Charger with 16 spots gained to finish third. Craig Carroll ended up fourth with Johnny Kent in fifth.

From 20th, Cameron Hagin made it to sixth with Noah Harris in seventh. Brett Wilson made up five spots to eighth with Jade Randolph ninth. Roy Larkin from 18th completed the top ten.

Winning over a field of 32 Modifieds for a $1,000 prize, Chad Davis used a late race restart to advance to the front of the field. Chasing early race leader, Justin Cartwright, the No. 24 was stalked by the seventh starting the No. 52 who wasted no time moving to the runner up spot.

Working low on the speedway the first half of the A-Feature, Davis adjusted his line to the lip with just under ten laps to run. Getting a run off the second turn working Lap 19, the caution brought the field back single file and to Lap 18. Railing the wall on the restart, Davis built a 2.181-second advantage over the closing laps. Justin Cartwright held on for second with Joe Wright coming from ninth to third. Austin McSperitt from 12th made it to fourth with Eric Redman making up the top five.

Also joined by the 600cc Modifieds, Ryan Early picked up the win over Frankie Bardaro, Brayden Early, Brigan Wheat, and Raymond Franklin making up the top five.
