Gorby earns third Sooner victory at Creek County Speedway

John Rittenoure - KELLYVILLE, Okla. (September 30, 2023) - With only three races left on the 2023 Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series time is running out for a driver to improve their standing in the top 10. But Joseph Gorby is taking full advantage.

Saturday Gorby drove off the pole and went the 25-lap distance to win his third Sooner Late Model Series feature of the season. The win allowed Gorby to close within 80 points of Richard Shepler for second place in the standings.

Gorby was chased by points leader Brett Hansen who settled for second. Jason Redman ran third followed by Dustin Dixon in fourth and Shepler finished fifth to hold on to his second spot in points.

Sooner Late Model Series
The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
